With seating for around twenty in a cozy setting, a charismatic owner in the dining room, and a talented young chef at the helm, this restaurant is a winning formula and a must-try. We had a wonderful evening enjoying delicious, perfectly executed dishes and a fine selection of reasonably priced wines. Special mention goes to the freshness of the scallops and the expertly cooked pollack. Reservations are essential.

It's often forgotten that Rennes isn't just about finding hidden gems in the city center. While passing through La Chapelle-des-Fougeretz, it was high time I found a place to eat. I stumbled upon Ty Marie, a restaurant with excellent reviews. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much; it's located behind the main square. However, upon entering, you'll find a pleasant, rather minimalist, and quite inviting atmosphere with a shaded terrace. The very friendly owner seats you comfortably. The ambiance is calm with jazz playing in the background, perfect for enjoying a meal and a chat. He then presents the daily menu, taking the time to explain how each dish is prepared. His wine recommendation is also very insightful. The starter is simple yet delicious, very fresh with a good texture, a nice balance of flavors, and lovely taste: celery remoulade, smoked salmon, Granny Smith apples, and pickled onions. The main course, a haddock fillet, was divine. The fish was cooked to perfection, pearly white, and the chorizo ​​risotto was flavorful but not overpowering, allowing the superb fish to shine. A light dressing of fresh herbs brought everything together beautifully. And the royal chocolate dessert, with its tonka bean ganache, delicious tuiles, impeccable crumble, and chocolate cake studded with peanuts, was simply divine. Rich, but utterly delicious! The owner is incredibly kind and easygoing, simply a lover of good food. In short, a flawless three-course meal for €23 at the time of writing. Highly recommended!
